WELCOME

We would like to welcome the following new residents to Asbury Park. We are so glad you are all here!

Joseph, Johnny, & Goldie Dykes

4603 Abercorne Terrace

Please make or new neighbors feel welcomed in Asbury Park.

AT&T Update

The AT&T Fiber installation in the neighborhood has been completed.  For the most part, the process went smoothly.  The outdoor information session provided by AT&T representatives was most helpful for residents who were considering subscribing to the service.  Almost daily you can see crews performing home installations or burying cable.  There remain a few spots in the neighborhood where excavations need some additional attention. AT&T representatives have been notified.

POOL NEWS

Pool opening is planned for Memorial Day Weekend.  Two new umbrellas have been ordered, and the sand filter had been replaced.  As warmer weather approaches, and “pool season” begins, please adhere to all regulations posted in the pool area so we can have a safe and enjoyable summer.

**** A note of interest ****

We will no longer be using the “sandwich board” at the entrance of the neighborhood to advertise upcoming social events.  You will be seeing a smaller sign referring you to the website for details about an activity. Thanks for helping us to make this more efficient method of communicating successful.

Requests for Modifications: The HOA regulations require prior approval of the Board regarding changes in landscaping, exterior painting, along with major items such as changes to fences, walls, roofs, shutters, etc. Modification Applications (which may be found on the asburyparkky.com website under Community Documents – Application for Modification tab), must be submitted to Mulloy Properties, as indicated on the Application, before any work begins.

Modifications made without prior approval may require changes at the owner’s expense.

If you have any questions, please Beth Holt, Mulloy Properties, at (502) 498-2401.

HOW TO KEEP INFORMED OF HAPPENINGS IN ASBURY PARK

IF YOU WANT TO BE IN THE KNOW ON HAPPENINGS IN ASBURY PARK, YOU MUST REGISTER ON OUR WEBPAGE. This is our primary method of communicating with all residents. If you are new to the neighborhood or have not had the opportunity to sign up for our Asbury Park webpage, please follow the directions below to register:

Go to: www.asburyparkky.com

Once there, click on the Residents tab and find Need to Register; complete the form. After you have done that, you will be able to receive the minutes from our Board Meetings, view the newsletter, obtain a directory of residents of Asbury Park, view upcoming events, and important announcements. We want all the residents of Asbury Park to feel part of our wonderful community.

OVERHANGING TREES

Without doubt Asbury Park is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the Metropolitan area, and many of our residents take full advantage of the scenery to walk regularly and enjoy the view.  If you have trees in your front yard, please make sure that they are properly trimmed and well away from the sidewalk so our walkers have an unobstructed path.  City ordinances require trees be maintained at a height of 7.5 feet above the sidewalk to ensure pedestrian safety.  Additionally, well- trimmed trees help to maintain that well-groomed appearance we all desire.

SOFTBALL FIELD

Some residents may have noticed some new sounds coming from the new softball field located across the entrance from the neighborhood.  During our Annual Homeowners Meeting in November, a presentation was made providing details for the field’s projected usage.  The Springdale Community Church is leasing the field to Portland Christian School for five years.  The field will not have lights.  It will have a PA system, but it will not be used after 9:00 PM.  The leadership of Springdale Community Church and Portland Christian School have been directly involved in addressing issues of concern to our neighborhood, and they want to make every effort to be good neighbors.

FLOCK SECURITY

Plans to install the Flock security camera have been finalized, and installation has been scheduled.  Be on the lookout for a separate e-mail providing detailed information about the system.

TREE REPLACEMENT PLAN

One of the most striking features of our beautiful neighborhood is its lush tree canopy.  Sadly, a number of the trees that were originally planted have begun to decline.  There is in place a long- range replacement plan.  Over the past several years a number of trees have been planted to replace those we have lost.  Last fall, four Ginkgo trees were planted along the Boulevard, and their fall foliage is gorgeous.  Future plantings include Black Gums, Willow Oaks, and ‘Flame Throwers’ (Red Buds) that should be around for us to enjoy for years to come.
